Great! Did you know I researched that story myself, wanted to find out if the "mountain play" they do on that theme every year had any basis in Indian legends. Got through to the author, who was quite old at the time, and he just guffawed and said, "Naw, I just made all that stuff up!" Actually your story is kinda close to his, but I think that's probably intentional. And here's a treat I think is unexpected . . . you can see the mural you mention behind the bar there. I think it was taken for a newspaper article about the place. Funny, I've just had a flurry of e-mails from folks who worked there at the time, all quite nostalgic. It was a unique place, all right.

Oh wow! I loved the building tension, from the people not welcoming him to the inn through the end, where he was determined to escape. I also enjoyed the shift from frustration with Moll through to attraction and abandonment of her. A whole relationship in a meal and a kiss.

Delicious! I only figured out what was coming when the clothes got looser. I loved the granddaughter who wanted him to be careful what he wished for and the knitting that clearly held the spells.

Hot DOG! That was awesome. I loved the conclusion, when she wanted to know how to use the saw. It makes me think of the old adage about there being no such thing as a secret between three people. Like she knows that if this is to happen again, it has to be kept between her and Victoria. Or kept to herself alone.
